Based on Innette Miller's novel, Burning Bridges : Diary of a Mid-Life Affair (currently out-of-print). Fact-based story of a middle-aged housewife who confessed to her husband the affair she was having with her doctor. #1) Meredith Baxter is in one of her stereotypical roles (annoying!) but there was a moral to this story which was a good tale to tell to women who are in the midst of a "mid-life crisis"..The grass is never greener on the other side and If he cheated with you he'll probably cheat on you in the future with someone else so why bother getting involved in the first place? (Even if he does look like Derek ... )
