Derek de Lint plays a bit part as scientist "Theo van Sertema" who gets interviewed by Jenny Lerner (Téa Leoni) which some viewers say is about 45 minutes into the movie. His part only lasts less than a minute, unfortunately! The movie is about a highschooler who finds the comet by chance one night. It's then discovered that the massive comet is on a collision course with earth in two years. Faced with the extinction of mankind, the nations of the world launch a mission into space while the rest of the world prepares and waits for the horror to arrive.
