Sunday, May 14, 2000 for a private lunch. ... THE

for this good news, submitted by Suzanne
From the May 9th,
2000 email announcement from Miki of Miridien Filmed Entertainment Inc.
(formerly Isis Media Works, before their merger) before their trip to
Cannes - "As
one of 18,000 entrants competing for a handful of positions - we ended
up being one of only TWO (2) project from Canada that were accepted
at all!!! What a tremendous honour. Further, as though one weren't good
enought, the feature we just completed principal photography on "Salvador's
Deli" has already been scooped and will also be in Cannes, with Westar
Entertainment as its foreign distributor!!!"
Congrats
to Isis Media Works (now Miridien) !!!

"The
Artist's Circle" is a short film by producer-turned-director, Bruce
Marchfelder, who wrote, directed and edited it. The film was shot
on 35mm by Emmy award-winning Director of Photography, Joel
Ransom. The film was submitted to the Sundance
Festival 2000 (January 20-30, 2000 in Park City, Utah) but did not
appear to be accepted. Great news though - it was selected at the 39th
International Critics Week for Cannes. Keep an eye out for it!
Credits: Thanks
to fellow DdL fan, Christel M., for first alerting me to this short
film and my special thanks and gratitude to Michelle (Miki) Czernin
von Chudenitz at Isis Media for sharing information about the short
film she worked on and for confirming that Derek did indeed participate.
